YIN-YANG and Myofascial Release

In March last year, I had the opportunity to take Thomas M. Myer’s Anatomy Trains course in Singapore, delivered by one of his senior assistants Michael Watson. Mr. Myer is one of the world’s leading facia researchers and modern body workers who helped bringing the concept of fascia continuity and integrity into the mainstream. He developed a theory and a map of myofascial meridians called the Anatomy Trains. His widely popular book “Anatomy Trains, Myofascial Meridians for Manual and Movement Therapists” is one of the main bibles for modern body workers and movement enthusiasts around the world.

In this third season of Bali Sunday we are going to integrate Tom Myer’s Anatomy Trains concepts into our brand new Yin-Yang and Myofascial Release (MFR) classes. Using Anatomy Trains as a map we will enrich our favorite Yin and Myofascial Release practice with movements from Hatha Yoga and other dynamic (Yang) modalities I personally enjoy practicing such as Pilates and Qi Gong, in hope for a more complete exploration, experience and understanding of the connective tissues of the body.

The Anatomy Trains theory acknowledges at least seven mysofascial lines in our body. However due to the vast amount of information of the topic and our limited time, in these series of Bali Sunday we will only be exploring three lines divided into five meetings. The remaining lines I hope we can explore in another series of Bali Sunday classes.

March 7th – Superficial Back Line pt. 1

March 14th – Superficial Back Line pt. 2

March 21st –  Superficial Front Line pt. 1

March 28th – Superficial Front Line pt. 2

April 4th – Lateral Line pt. 1

The classes will take a form of mini workshop of 75-90 minutes combining theory and practice sessions. The recording of the sessions will be available for access of ONE MONTH. This would give you enough time to revisit the practice if you wish.

Since each fascia line is interconnected, the best way to make the most of the program is by joining all five classes.

How Can You Support Us

In the spirit of togetherness in this trying time, I will keep the classes on donation base. All number is equally appreciated, from $1 to $1000 to good wishes and prayers. So please donate according to your ability.

Like in the previous two seasons of Bali Sunday, a portion of your donation will be put into my little food drive project for local Balinese/ Indonesian who’ve lost their incomes due to the pandemic. In December we were able to donate care packages and cash to over 90 people in the community. We’re hoping to roll out similar program in April.
